SCSH 1201 SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

  Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone! For the second class, we start our session with the connection between Islam and sustainable development. In islam, we are also being taught on how to maintain and protect our environment so that the future generation can live in a green environment without having many problems. As our lecturer said, Professor Dr. Suhaimi, there are three fundamentals of Islam and development. Those three are relationships with Allah, fellow human beings and the environment. For the second agenda, our lecturer assigned us to the breakout room and discussed our proposed project for this subject and how to include islamic perspective in the topic. At first, we were very quiet and shy as we didn't know each other. But, I believe as time goes by, we have already overcome it. It is also an interesting activity as it can build our friendship and be closer with each other.   Assalamualaikum and Hi everyone ! For the first class, we are being taught the overview of sustainable development. Sustainable is a social goal for people to co-exist on Earth over a long time. Sustainable development is defined as d evelopment that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs . Basically, the concept of sustainability is on how to lead a good life. This sustainability closely relates to the 5Ps which are people, planet, prosperity, peace and partnership. Prosperty is on how to get rid of selfishness where the people are not being greedy. We also learned that before SDGs existed, there were MDGs which consisted of 8 goals only unlike SDGs 17 goals.   Assalamualaikum and hi everyone! My name is Nor Adilah Binti Iskandar Ali and I was born in Johor Bahru but I am currently staying in Selangor with my family.
